Review:

It’s hard to review your own music – but I’ll give it a shot.  I worked with Sureet Sandhu on this track – he’s the musical genius behind all the Digital Desi Production stuff, including the Renegades series.  He’s usually behind the hottest tracks by Sir Aah, Raja Wilco and many many others.

The track is different – that’s really what the point was.  The UK Asian scene puts out a lot of really fun music – as does its mirror in the states and Canada.  But… some of it sounds a lot like other stuff.  Trust me, I’m calling myself out on this as well.  90+% of the stuff I’ve made sounds like something you've already heard a million times.

So we wanted to make something unique here.  While keeping a hip hop, mainstream feel to it, we wanted people to also think of Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead, Dave Matthews Band, Maroon 5 or Coldplay.  The lyrics were meant to still have a bit of that ‘ol hip hop swagger in them.  The blend that it creates is pretty unique.

Did we accomplish everything we set out to?  I think we’re pretty close. The first RJ to play the track was Roxy of http://radioasiafm.com  – so she gets massive shout outs for that - Thanks Rox!
