Song: Sanu Ek Pal Chain
Artist: Ustaad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan
Review:
You can’t find a bigger NFAK fan than me. I cried when he died. I named my dog after him (Ustaad). I have heard every version of every song he’s
made – I think. Actually, I hope that’s
not true.
This is my favorite song by him – when the song begins, my
mind goes into a peaceful trance; seriously.
It’s like a hypnotist has trained me to calm down at even the faintest
thought of this song.
My wife and I used to live in Austin – it was a desolate
area and we were very lonely. While there,
every time we entered our car we’d put this song on. It added color, variety and a sense of
relevance to the dead, dry, monotonous rolling hills around us.
I have a new album I’m releasing called “World Market
Special” – in it, I have a track where the hook to my song is the hook from
this song, called "Something Stupid Simple". It’s a special thing for
me.
In the meanwhile, enjoy “Sanu Ek Pal Chain” – and cherish this moment.
